After crossing the mad mile, also known as the Wide Bay Bar in very composed conditions (thank god) we made our way up the Great Sandy Straits to a spot called Garry's Anchorage just off Fraser Island. We had a great night sleep in this sheltered spot despite the North Westerly that battered us on the way up.

We started the next day by exploring just a little bit of Fraser Island being aware of the signs warning us of Dingos and Crocs. Our walk was short lived however as Finn almost walked straight into a Dingo when going for a wee in the bushes. Apparently it was huge - twice the size of a German Shepherd - in Finns opinion ;)

We hopped back aboard with all limbs intact and motor sailed up to a little anchorage just off Susan Island (in recognition of one of our most consistent followers ;)) for the night.
